Dave graduated from Armstrong High School in 1991. Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Office, Dave worked for Room & Board as a Delivery Associate for 8 years. Dave also served in the United States Coast Guard where he was stationed in Petersburg, Alaska from 1991-1993 and New Orleans, Louisiana from 1993-1995. Dave also spent four months in Petaluma, California attending Radioman school and Boarding Team Member school. He attended classes a Minneapolis Community College and North Hennepin, before completing skills at CCJLE.
Dave was appointed Steward of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Deputies Association in 2005 by then President Patrick Denman and has been a huge contributor to the success of the association. Among many other things, Dave is responsible for representing and protecting the rights of the 68 Deputy Sheriff’s assigned to the Adult Detention Division. He also plays a major role in organizing the association’s holiday party and summer picnic events.
Dave has been married for 11 years to his wife Sheila and has two daughters, ages 7 and 11. In his free time, Dave enjoys hockey, softball, fishing, and camping.
